A semifinalist for the 2024 National Playwrights Conference at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center and recipient of the 2023 Artists Award for Drama at the Guilford Performing Arts Festival, Because We Can follows the executive team of the world's largest social media company over the course of a single week, as they confront mounting ethical dilemmas in every direction. Tracing the origins of mathematical thought to the urgent contemporary challenges of artificial intelligence, the piece interrogates power, responsibility, and the consequences of innovation at scale.
